AskSara.care is operated by the Ask Sara Foundation, a nonprofit. We built this site to help families research senior care without the pressure that usually comes with it. Protecting your privacy is part of that promise.

The short version

Information we collect

Information you give us

If you contact us, sign up for updates, or submit a correction, we collect the details you choose to provide, such as your name, email address, and your message. We use this only to respond to you and to do what you asked.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting and analytics tools may record basic technical information such as your browser type, general location (city or region), the pages you visit, and the date and time. We use this to understand what is helpful and to keep the site working. We aim to use privacy-respecting analytics that do not track you across other sites.

Cookies

We use a small number of cookies that are necessary for the site to function and, where applicable, to measure aggregate usage. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

How we use your information

We use the limited information we collect to respond to your messages, to operate and improve the site, to keep it secure, and to comply with the law. We do not use your information to advertise to you, and we do not build profiles to sell.

What we do not do

We want to be specific, because this is where senior-care websites often disappoint families. We do not sell your data. We do not share your contact details with facilities, brokers, or referral services. Using AskSara.care will not result in a wave of sales calls, because we are not sending your information to anyone who would make them.

Service providers

We rely on a few trusted providers to host the site, deliver it, and measure basic usage. These providers process information only on our behalf and under terms that require them to protect it. They are not permitted to use your information for their own purposes.

How long we keep information

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purpose you provided it, or as required by law, and then we delete or anonymize it.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or the CCPA. To make any request, contact us using the details below, and we will respond promptly.

Children

AskSara.care is intended for adults researching care for themselves or a loved one. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, note them clearly. We encourage you to review it from time to time.
